01ROOTÉ Hair Analysis Is Not a Medical Diagnosis

ROOTÉ may provide a photo-based, questionnaire-assisted and AI-supported assessment of visible hair and scalp characteristics, evaluating characteristics such as visible thinning, hairline appearance, crown appearance, hair coverage, scalp visibility, density-related indicators, hair-loss patterns, image quality, and other supported characteristics.

Unless expressly reviewed and issued by an appropriately licensed healthcare professional, the ROOTÉ hair analysis is informational and preliminary in nature, not a medical diagnosis, and not a medical prescription. A ROOTÉ Hair Score, classification, AI result, recommendation or personalized report should not be interpreted as confirmation that you have a particular medical condition.

02Artificial Intelligence Has Limitations

ROOTÉ may use artificial intelligence, computer vision and third-party technology providers to analyze photographs and questionnaire information. AI systems can make mistakes. Results may be affected by factors including:

• poor lighting
• image blur
• camera quality
• camera distance
• angle
• hairstyle
• hair length
• hair color
• wet or styled hair
• scalp visibility
• previous procedures
• image obstruction
• and limitations in the underlying AI model

Accordingly, ROOTÉ does not guarantee that an AI analysis will identify every condition or accurately characterize every user's hair or scalp. Where there is insufficient information or measurement confidence, users should not rely on a numerical or automated result as a substitute for professional evaluation.

03Not a Substitute for Medical Care

Information provided through ROOTÉ does not replace consultation with a physician, dermatologist, pharmacist, licensed prescriber, or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional. Seek professional medical advice whenever you have a health concern or are unsure whether a product, ingredient or treatment is appropriate for you.

04When You Should Seek Professional Evaluation

You should consider obtaining professional medical evaluation instead of relying solely on a consumer hair analysis if you experience circumstances such as:

• sudden or unexplained hair loss
• hair loss occurring in distinct patches
• significant scalp pain
• lesions
• bleeding
• inflammation
• severe itching
• significant redness
• scarring
• rapidly progressing hair loss
• unexpected systemic symptoms
• or another condition that concerns you

ROOTÉ's consumer analysis is not designed to rule out all possible medical causes of hair or scalp changes.

05Prescription Treatments Require Separate Medical Review

Where a ROOTÉ program includes or may include a prescription product, the AI hair analysis alone does not authorize treatment. Any prescription component must be handled through the appropriate medical process required in the relevant jurisdiction, which may include medical intake, eligibility questions, identity verification, review by a licensed healthcare professional, prescription issuance, and appropriate dispensing.

A licensed healthcare professional retains independent responsibility for determining whether a prescription treatment is appropriate. ROOTÉ's AI system cannot override a clinician's decision.

06Compounded Medications

Certain personalized treatments may, where legally available, involve compounded medication. Compounded medications are not necessarily equivalent to FDA-approved finished drug products. In the United States, compounded products generally do not undergo the same FDA premarket review for safety, effectiveness and manufacturing quality as FDA-approved drugs.

For example, the FDA currently states that there is no FDA-approved topical finasteride formulation and has reported adverse events associated with compounded topical finasteride products. Where ROOTÉ offers access to a compounded medication, its status should be clearly disclosed before treatment.

07Customer Responsibility Before Using a Product

Before using any ROOTÉ product, you are responsible for reviewing ingredient information, directions, dosage or application frequency, warnings, contraindications, and other instructions supplied with the product. Use products only as directed. Do not intentionally use a greater amount, higher frequency or different method of application simply in an attempt to obtain faster or stronger results.

08Consult a Healthcare Professional Before Use When Appropriate

You should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before beginning a ROOTÉ product or treatment if you:

• have a medical condition
• take prescription medication
• take other medicines or supplements
• have known allergies
• have sensitive skin or scalp
• have previously experienced an adverse reaction
• have undergone hair transplantation or another relevant procedure
• are receiving another hair-loss treatment
• have a history that may affect treatment suitability
• or otherwise have doubts about whether the product is appropriate for you

09Pregnancy, Breastfeeding and Fertility Considerations

Certain ingredients or medications may be inappropriate for people who are pregnant, may be pregnant, are trying to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or may be exposed to particular medicines through handling or contact. Do not rely on a general ROOTÉ webpage to determine safety in these circumstances. Consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before using or handling a product where pregnancy, breastfeeding or fertility considerations may be relevant. Product-specific warnings and medical instructions always take priority.

10Medication and Ingredient Interactions

Ingredients may interact with medications, supplements, medical conditions, other topical treatments, and other products being used simultaneously. ROOTÉ cannot know every medicine, supplement or health condition affecting every customer unless that information has been properly obtained and reviewed. If you are taking medication or combining multiple treatments, consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional where appropriate.

11Allergies, Sensitivities and Skin Reactions

Products applied to the hair or scalp may cause reactions including irritation, redness, dryness, itching, burning, rash, or allergic response. Dietary supplements and ingestible products may also cause intolerance or unwanted reactions. Review the ingredient list before use. If you know or suspect that you are allergic or sensitive to an ingredient, do not use the product without appropriate professional advice.

12Stop Use if You Experience a Concerning Reaction

If you experience a significant or unexpected adverse reaction, stop using the relevant product and seek appropriate medical advice. For severe or urgent symptoms, seek immediate emergency medical care. Do not continue using a product merely because an AI system, website or marketing material recommended it.

13Individual Results Vary

Hair biology differs significantly between individuals. The results of any ROOTÉ product or program may depend on factors including genetics, age, sex, cause of hair loss, duration of hair loss, follicular condition, overall health, adherence, medication use, nutrition, lifestyle, hair-care practices, and individual biological response. Accordingly, individual results may vary — ROOTÉ does not guarantee a particular result for every customer.

14No Guaranteed Regrowth

Unless expressly supported by legally sufficient evidence and permitted under applicable law, ROOTÉ does not guarantee:

• new hair growth
• restoration of lost hair
• prevention of future hair loss
• increased density
• reversal of follicular miniaturization
• restoration of a particular hairline
• or any specific amount of improvement

A customer who experiences improvement does not establish that another customer will achieve the same result.

15No Guaranteed Anti-Grey Result

ROOTÉ may offer products intended to support hair pigmentation, hair health or related cosmetic goals. Unless expressly substantiated and legally permitted, ROOTÉ does not guarantee reversal of grey hair, restoration of natural pigmentation, prevention of future greying, a particular percentage of pigmentation change, or results within a specific timeframe. References to scientific research concerning an ingredient do not automatically establish that a finished ROOTÉ product will produce the same result.

16Before-and-After Results

Before-and-after photographs may demonstrate the experience of a specific customer. They are not a guarantee of typical or future results. Results shown may depend on treatment duration, adherence, individual biology, lighting, hair length, hairstyle, camera angle, and other variables. Where ROOTÉ uses customer before-and-after photographs, we aim to present them in a manner that is not intentionally misleading.

17Progress Measurements

ROOTÉ may compare photographs taken at different times. Any quantitative or visual comparison should be interpreted in light of measurement limitations. Different lighting, camera distance, angle, haircut, hair length, hairstyle, or image quality can produce apparent changes that do not necessarily represent biological improvement or deterioration. Where measurement confidence is insufficient, ROOTÉ may decline to show a precise change.

18Recommended Program Duration Is Not a Promise

ROOTÉ may recommend program durations such as 90, 120, 180, 270 or 360 Days. These periods represent recommended program or evaluation intervals — they are not promises that a specific result will occur by a specific day. For example, a “180-Day Program” does not mean “guaranteed regrowth within 180 days.”

19Ingredient Information

ROOTÉ may provide information concerning individual ingredients and their known or proposed roles, based on published scientific literature, supplier documentation, regulatory materials, formulation information, or other sources. A study involving an individual ingredient is not automatically evidence that the complete ROOTÉ formulation produces the same result. ROOTÉ will not intentionally present a third-party ingredient study, a competitor's study, or a study using a materially different formulation as though it were a clinical trial of a ROOTÉ finished product.

20Scientific Research Does Not Guarantee Individual Benefit

Scientific evidence can change over time and may vary in quality. Some ingredients may have substantial clinical evidence, preliminary evidence, laboratory evidence, limited human evidence, or evidence relating only to a particular formulation, dosage or concentration. ROOTÉ will seek to distinguish between established evidence and preliminary research. The existence of scientific research does not guarantee that the ingredient or product will benefit every user.

21Dietary Supplements

Where a ROOTÉ product is classified as a dietary supplement in the United States, it is subject to the legal framework applicable to dietary supplements rather than prescription drugs. Where ROOTÉ uses qualifying structure/function claims, those claims must be truthful, non-misleading and appropriately substantiated, and FDA rules also require the applicable statutory disclaimer.

Where legally required, the following statement should appear with applicable dietary-supplement claims: “These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.” The FDA also requires businesses using covered structure/function claims to notify the agency within 30 days after first marketing the supplement with the claim.

22Dietary Supplements Are Not a Substitute for Medical Treatment

Dietary supplements should not be used as a substitute for diagnosis or treatment of a medical condition that requires professional care. Do not discontinue prescribed medication or medical treatment merely because you begin using a ROOTÉ supplement.

23Cosmetic Products

Where a ROOTÉ product is legally classified as a cosmetic, descriptions of the product should not be interpreted as meaning that the product is approved to diagnose or treat a disease unless the product has the applicable legal status permitting such a claim. In Israel, the Ministry of Health specifically regulates misleading health-related advertising and states that medicinal/health qualities generally cannot simply be attributed to cosmetics unless permitted within the applicable regulatory framework.

24Product Classification May Differ by Market

The same or similar product may be regulated differently depending on the jurisdiction. A ROOTÉ item may, depending on its formula and market, be classified as a cosmetic, dietary supplement, over-the-counter product, prescription medication, compounded medication, or another regulated product category. Accordingly, not every ROOTÉ product or program will necessarily be available in every country.

25Product Claims May Differ by Country

Claims legally permitted in one country may not be permitted in another. ROOTÉ may therefore display different product descriptions, different warnings, different eligibility requirements, and different treatment pathways depending on the customer's market. Changing the website language does not change the regulatory market governing the customer's purchase.

26ROOTÉ Does Not Encourage Self-Diagnosis

A customer should not independently conclude from a photograph or online article that they have androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, a nutritional deficiency, hormonal disorder, dermatological disease or another medical condition. Multiple conditions can produce similar visible symptoms. Seek professional evaluation where diagnosis matters.

27ROOTÉ Does Not Encourage Self-Prescribing

Do not obtain prescription medication without appropriate authorization, change a prescription dose yourself, combine prescription treatments contrary to professional advice, or start/stop medication solely because of an AI analysis. Any prescription treatment should follow the instructions of the prescribing professional and applicable pharmacy/product labeling.

28Changes to a Treatment

If you are using a prescription treatment, decisions concerning matters such as dosage, frequency, continuation, discontinuation, contraindications, side effects, or substitution should be made through the appropriate clinical process. ROOTÉ's consumer AI should not independently change a prescription.

29Customer Information Must Be Accurate

Where ROOTÉ or a healthcare professional asks for information relevant to product or treatment safety, you are responsible for providing accurate information to the best of your knowledge, including medications, allergies, medical history, symptoms, current treatment, age, sex, pregnancy-related information where relevant, and adverse reactions. Providing incomplete or inaccurate information may affect the safety or suitability of a recommendation.

30Medical Emergencies

ROOTÉ is not an emergency medical service. Do not use the ROOTÉ website, ROOTÉ Coach, customer support, email, AI chat, or hair-analysis tools to obtain emergency medical assistance. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency service or seek immediate medical care.

31AI Coach

Where ROOTÉ offers an AI Coach or conversational assistant, its responses are intended primarily to help users understand their program, routine, general product instructions, progress schedule, account information, and educational ROOTÉ content. The AI Coach may make mistakes. It should not be relied upon to diagnose a medical condition, determine emergency care, prescribe medication, change a prescription, override a physician, or provide individualized medical care beyond its approved scope.

32Third-Party Information

ROOTÉ may link to or discuss information from ingredient suppliers, research publications, physicians, AI providers, laboratories, regulatory agencies, and other third parties. ROOTÉ does not automatically adopt every statement made by those third parties as its own medical claim.

33Regulatory Review of Claims

ROOTÉ seeks to ensure that product claims, website statements, advertisements, ingredient descriptions, before-and-after materials, and medical-language content are presented in accordance with applicable law and are not intentionally misleading. ROOTÉ may, where appropriate, revise, remove, qualify, or restrict a statement when necessary to comply with applicable law or updated scientific evidence.

34Customer Responsibility

You are responsible for following product instructions, reviewing warnings, providing accurate health information where requested, consulting a healthcare professional where appropriate, discontinuing use when a serious adverse reaction is suspected, and not intentionally misusing ROOTÉ products.

35Limitation Regarding Misuse

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ROOTÉ is not responsible for harm resulting from intentional misuse, use contrary to instructions, knowingly disregarding a contraindication, unauthorized modification of a prescribed treatment, using substantially more than directed, or continuing to use a product despite a significant adverse reaction. Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Subject to mandatory rights and protections that cannot lawfully be waived, the customer is responsible for using ROOTÉ products only as directed, reviewing ingredients, warnings and contraindications, and determining whether use is appropriate for the customer's personal circumstances. If the customer has a medical condition, takes medication or supplements, has allergies or sensitivities, is pregnant or breastfeeding, is trying to conceive, has had prior adverse reactions, or is otherwise uncertain about suitability, the customer should consult an appropriately qualified physician or other healthcare professional before use and should confirm that the product is appropriate for the customer's individual health circumstances.

ROOTÉ does not act as the customer's personal physician and does not assume responsibility for individual medical outcomes, side effects, or adverse reactions solely because a product, program, AI result, or recommendation was provided, displayed, sold, or purchased. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ROOTÉ is not responsible for medical harm resulting from misuse, use contrary to instructions, use despite a known contraindication, failure to obtain appropriate professional advice where reasonably indicated, failure to disclose relevant safety information when requested, or continued use after a significant adverse reaction.

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability for defective products, negligence, fraud, willful misconduct, personal injury, professional medical negligence, or any other liability or consumer right that applicable law does not permit to be excluded or limited.

36Mandatory Consumer and Patient Rights

Nothing in this Medical Disclaimer removes mandatory consumer rights, product-safety rights, rights relating to defective products, rights arising from professional medical negligence, or other rights that applicable law does not permit ROOTÉ or another party to exclude.

37Changes to This Disclaimer

ROOTÉ may update this Medical Disclaimer as products change, scientific evidence develops, AI capabilities change, regulations change, or new services are introduced. The latest revision date will appear at the top of this page. Material changes will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
